FAQS

Am I too old / too young for osteopathic treatment?

As treatment is tailored to the individual, osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages. It is important that you make your osteopath aware of any underlying health complaints related to aging, so that they can adapt their treatment plan accordingly. (For example, patients suffering from issues such as osteoporosis will only be treated with the very gentlest of techniques.) For patients under the age of 16, it is advisable to discuss the nature of the complaint with your osteopath before booking an appointment, in order to determine whether treatment is likely to be appropriate. Patients under the age of 16 will need to have a parent or guardian present with them at each appointment.
