FAQS

Will the treatment hurt?

No - It doesn’t have to. Treatment is always guided by what you feel comfortable with and therefore any painful aspects of treatment will be kept to a minimum or avoided if necessary. Sometimes, the more gentle treatment techniques will produce results more slowly, while the more efficient method of treatment might involve some temporary pain or discomfort (often described by patients as ‘good pain’). Your osteopath will always discuss these options with you and will never proceed with any treatment that you are not happy with. Please bear in mind however, that in order to form an initial diagnosis, it may be necessary for your osteopath to temporarily reproduce the symptoms for which you are seeking treatment. This gives the osteopath a very clear idea of which structures are injured, and therefore how best to effectively reduce your pain. If you are particularly concerned about this, please make sure to discuss it with your osteopath during your consultation.
